Finance alumni publish their honors papers
Congratulations to the Heller College of Business graduates whose thesis papers were accepted for publication at conferences. The three finance honors students worked with Dr. Asghar Sabbaghi on their projects.
 
  • Jorge Leyva Ramirez’s (BS Finance, ’21) paper on cryptocurrency was accepted into the Academy of Business Research summer conference. Jorge competed for the Lakers on the men’s soccer team.
  • The abstract of Drew Ritter’s (BS Management ’21) paper on renewable energy has been accepted into the National Decision Science Institute’s annual conference. Drew played on the men’s golf team.
  • Joshua Demik’s (BS Finance, ’21) paper on herding behavior was accepted into the National Decision Science Institute’s annual conference.

Laker Leadership Conference
Spring 2022
The YPA Laker Leadership Conference is coming in spring 2022. The multiday in-person conference will feature young alumni as presenters on topics that may include cognitive flexibility, negotiation and influencing, the power of philanthropy, business writing, emotional intelligence, upskilling/reskilling and community activism.

The conference will feature employer sponsors, campus partners and the Office of Alumni Engagement in a resource fair format. Roosevelt also plans to host a notable keynote speaker and an opportunity to better understand Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB). Event sponsored by the 2021-2022 NEAT Grant.
